Arizona Charitable Tax Credit

When you give to Yuma Community Food Bank, Arizona gives something back. The Arizona Qualifying Charitable Organization (QCO) tax credit lets you redirect up to $987 of your state taxes directly into hunger relief, at no additional cost to you.

This credit reduces your Arizona income taxes dollar-for-dollar. That means a $495 donation by a single filer does not just lower your taxable income; it cuts your actual tax bill by $495. You can even combine this credit with other Arizona tax credits to maximize your impact.

Your Quick-Reference Guide

  • QCO Code: 20536
  • Tax Form: Arizona Form 321
  • Organization: Yuma Community Food Bank
  • 2025 max (single / MFS / head of household): $495
  • 2025 max (married filing jointly): $987
  • Deadline for 2025 tax year: April 15, 2026

How The Credit Works

The QCO tax credit is available to Arizona individual income tax filers who donate to a Qualifying Charitable Organization. Yuma Community Food Bank is a certified QCO, which means your contributions directly support low-income children, individuals, and families in the Yuma area.

To claim the credit, simply enter our QCO Code (20536) and your donation amount on Arizona Form 321 when you file your state return. No itemizing required.

Credit Amounts by Tax Year

2025 Tax Year (file in 2026)

$495 for single, married filing separately, or head of household

$987 for married filing jointly

Contributions made through April 15, 2026 qualify.

2024 Tax Year (file in 2025)

$470 for single, married filing separately, or head of household

$938 for married filing jointly

Important Note: January 1 to April 15, 2025 Donations

Arizona law allows donations made during 2024, as well as donations made from January 1, 2025 through April 15, 2025, to be claimed on your 2024 Arizona income tax return. The maximum credit on the 2024 return is $470 (single/MFS/head of household) or $938 (married filing jointly).

If you made a QCO donation during that January 1 to April 15, 2025 window and want to take advantage of the higher 2025 maximum credit ($495/$987), you will need to claim it on your 2025 Arizona return, filed in 2026.

In short: you choose which tax year to apply your donation to. Claiming it on the 2025 return lets you take the higher credit ceiling.

Your Donation Fights Hunger

Every dollar you give to Yuma Community Food Bank can provide up to 5 meals for hungry families right here in our community. The QCO tax credit means your generosity costs you nothing extra. You are simply redirecting money you would have paid in state taxes to a cause that matters.

Donations support low-income residents across Yuma County, including children, seniors, and individuals facing hardship. The food bank distributes 55,000 meals every weekday, and your contribution keeps those meals coming.
